It was an honour to capture one of Carson’s first days of life. His mummy had some requested setups so I was able to have some of them ready the night before his session. His parents drove a long way to my studio. Carson was as sleepy as can be so I was able to change it up to have a large variation of images. He was so handsome, curly and squishy. The shooting space was warm and toasty so he was super happy and relaxed and happy. I loved him in the womb-like curly poses and detail shots.

Emma, I hope you had a wonderful experience and I want to say a big thank you for trusting me to photograph these memories.

Taco pose

Priti came to have her first newborn portraits done at my studio. Her name means ‘love’ in the ancient Sanskrit language. When I first saw her I fell in love, the lips, the button nose, the hair – she had it all. Full of personality she was, and such a good baby. Her parents, Jon and Heidi asked for one of the images to be suitable for a birth announcement. They brought a few things such as a newspaper on the say she was born and some special headbands that were gifts from family. Her grandmother purchased the pink headband featured in her froggy pose. We finished off with family photos – I love doing these and capturing connection & emotion.

Matilda came to see me for her first newborn photos along with her mum, grandmother and big brother who all adore her. She made me work hard for her photos being slightly older and reflux had started to develop, so I had to let her guide me which poses she felt comfortable in doing and tried to keep her slightly upright where I could. We started off with the sibling shot, big brother followed my instructions to a tea and such a pleasure to photograph. He was really well behaved too and quiet as a mouse.

For their living room mum requested a neutral vintage theme, I had the perfect lace outfit for her to wear which looked absolutely stunning on Matilda. One of her best features were her baby rolls which we all LOVED so had to capture all that newborn squish while she was still little. She had some awake time during her photography session so I wrapped her for awake shots following family photos. After a top up feed she was back to sleep and I snuck in another setup ending with macro detail shots of her beautiful features.

When I say I have the most beautiful clients, I really do. I can’t even begin to write about how much I loved this family. As soon as I started posing Lily Rose I knew that the session was going to go great. Mostly natural colours were used to suit the home which was perfect for this princess. Lily loved being in the spotlight and didn’t mind posing at all, I didn’t hear a beep from her the entire shoot, she smiled SO many times for my camera, I seriously couldn’t get enough of her.
