Here is the sweet princess from today. Isn’t she gorgeous! I’m going to see her again later this week when I go back to photograph her with her parents. It’s amazing how much more alert and aware they are as they get older. We were lucky to have beautiful natural light coming through. I love sharing the excitement of a new baby with my families.

Karyn Flett is the leading newborn photographer in New Zealand and she is flying all the way to Perth for this TWO day workshop. It’s going to be absolutely FANTASTIC and a must for every child photographer to attend. This is my newest baby Mia, she was just perfect for her session, really! I know I say all my babies have been good but really she was such a poser and SO content and relaxed baby! I think she liked me because she was holding my finger at one point when I was settling her to sleep, it was the most beautiful thing and really touched my heart! We connected so well and I think that reflects in the images.
I have only started editing this session as its very new, I will post the first sneak peak for mum and the rest will come in the next few days so please come back to see her collage of images.
I loved Mia so much I offered her mum to babysit any time LOL, I seriously wanted to take this one home and keep her.
Safety of the child always comes first. Many of the posy images are a composite of two images together or one single image with the hands supporting the baby edited out in post processing. The baby is never left on their own, not even for one second. For poses such as the sling or froggy as the one above, I would only attempt if the baby is in a deep sleep.
Meet Emily, sweet baby girl from last week. Isn’t she just adorable? I loved photographing her. She was so content and sleepy, such a good girl for me. I’ve managed to capture so many beautiful images, the hardest job was to narrow them down. Her parents had a nice variation of images to choose from in their gallery. I have probably used 8 different blankets/backdrops plus some props, and yes! I did get the wings the right way this time haha.
It turned out her parents only live about 10 minutes from me so I went back a few days later to visit Emily for more cuddles. I couldn’t believe how much she had gown just in a few days!

On Saturday I got to meet this gorgeous boy. Leo came a few weeks early and he was only 6 days old when I was lucky enough to photograph him. He was such a good baby for his session. I will post a couple more images as soon as I get stuck into the editing. He was such a poser! I did get a few shots of his proud big sister as well.
